Thursday night special was enchiladas. I had cheese and my husband had chorizo. They came out piping hot and tasted excellent. One special thing I liked is that the cheese enchiladas didn't have onions in them--if you wanted them, you requested them. Usually you have to worry if you aren't an onion lover and they forget to take the onions out. I didn't have a drink, but their drinks looked amazing. Our waitress, Danita, was super nice and friendly. The place was inviting and fun. Can't wait to go again! Very impressed.

I've eaten the food here 3 times, it's been delicious every time. The chips are light and crispy, and the enchiladas are delish. I never had to ask for a refill on chips or water, and when I asked for spicy salsa I got it right away. Our friendly server Danita made us feel right at home. They also have great food specials, enchilada night (Thursday) is my favorite!

This place is what made me want to get a Yelp account... This location has historically always struggled even though about 10 years ago there was a great little Mexican spot there, I guess that why I decided to try it out. It couldn't have started out worse: I met my parents there who already had a table for us. I entered the restroom to wash my hands. While I washed up there was a gentleman who was in a stall doing his business. After a flush he answered his phone and sped out the stall and past the sink straight to the door...a few minutes later he was asking me what kind of beverage I wanted. I can't believe this guy was a server. He was a middle aged guy who clearly didn't care about sanitation but also refused to write our orders down claiming his memory and experience was above such pesky tasks...as you can imagine he goofed our order and never refilled my drink. To make matters worse he was rushing my dad with the check. The food: Awful. The rice was literally inedible; I've never experienced anything like it. It was atrocious and probably some weird minute rice microwave crap. I got the steak fajitas that were chewy and terrible. They try to impress you by bringing it out sizzling button reality that just because it's on a hot plate with margarine creating the affect. 90%of the dish was bell peppers that weren't in the pan long enough and cut too wide. The guacamole was a gross brown color too...I don't understand how they felt ok serving it. It was painfully obvious to me that most of the stuff they had was pre-packaged crap or stuff they bought from the freezer aisle next door at Sun Fresh. I don't anticipate this place lasting much longer than its predecessors...

Well, I stopped in on a lark. Upon walking in, i noticed the all white staff and clientele, the cheesy decor and nearly walked, but i was hungry and it was raining. The free chips were the cheap ones, not made in house, but although the salsa was watery, it had some cumin, paprika and some kick. It was Taco Tuesday, so I ordered the "Cali-style fish tacos." I was surprised to see that they were big, with about 4 ounces of perfectly pan-seared Talapia or Swai (i'm guessing by the flavor and price point), served on corn tortillas with cabbage and a lime wedge. However, that's about the end of it. There was nothing particularly "Mexican" about it, nor even "Cali-style" (being from Cali myself, I can vouch for that - we have a Mexican flavor to our tacos). Only $6.50, but nothing else on the plate. No beans, rice, pico, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, nada. Overall, *meh* I'd go 2 1/2 stars if I could, but since it won't let me...

Discovered this place purely by accident as I walking by to get a money order from the store. I was hungry and the outside decor does not indicate the type of food served within. They told me mexican I asked to be seated. The waitress started me off with a drink. As I was unsure of what drink to get she recommended a margarita black, it is sweet, tasty and not skimpy on the booze. I had the tacos and enchilada lunch special and it was delicious. What I liked just as much as the food and wait staff was the portions. A lot of authentic mexican places serve portions that are far to big just because they can. The portions here are just perfect, big enough to satisfy your hunger and not have the itis set in. I have since discovering this place eaten here 4 times.

We ate there on the groupon. Here is a quick run down: Cons: Chips are on par with great value/best choice - not authentic at all. Cheese dip came out luke warm at best. Service was very challenged - we had to ask for the following on separate occasions at least two if not three times: extra napkins (we have a 4 year old - hello!), waters, drinks. We orderd two orders of the fajitas - waitress knew we had the groupon, but for some reason thought we were sharing one order. So, they had to "rush" the second order which took 20 minutes and we just boxed it and took it home. Place was only 3/4 full on Saturday night at 7pm - not a good sign. Margaritas have no alcohol in them. When she brought them and we ordered one with no salt, she asked who ordered the plain - I am guessing plain meant no alcohol? Weird??? both were lacking and we got the "black margarita" with the groupon, but that is not on the drink menu? Also, margaritas come in a pint beer glass? Pros: Fajitas, rice, beans were all tasty. Good parking, seated quickly. Sorry, won't be back.....was hoping we found a new place.....

Had lunch at Cisco's today. Service was excellent, food quality was great, portions were excellent. We never had to wait for drink refills, nor did we run out of chips. The staff was very friendly, the restaurant was clean, and the food tasted great.

Gave them another try but again the service is HORRIBLE. How hard is it to refill water glasses, and how hard is it to serve a table when it's the only one filled in a section. My advice... PASS on this place.

We ate here the other night bc of a groupon. We ordered 2 fajita entrees, cheese dip, 2 margaritas & 1 kids meal. Fajita chicken tasted like it was seasoned w only salt & pepper, but glad it at least was not dry meat. The tortillas, chips, beans, guacamole & salsa taste from scratch. Salsa is served warm. The white cheese dip tasted like melted pepper jack. The rice was ok. The "black" margaritas were good & fresh tasting, didn't skimp on alcohol, but the color was odd (black or dark green food coloring). The kids meal was a cheese quesadilla, which is a taco sized tortilla. Perfect for my 3yr old, but not for my 9yr old. Overall, they seemed a little overwhelmed w a full Resturant. Our total bill apparently came to $65 (2 fajitas, Cisco dip, 2 margs, dip & 1 kids meal) which seems high. Subtract the groupon, pay difference as well as tax& tip on full amount Nothing was bad, but it wasn't anything to bring us back. We'll stick with Jose peppers & rancho grande for our Mexican dining. (I gave this same review in a groupon survey & received a nasty response from Cisco's Cantina. If there ever was another chance of going to this Resturant again, it will now be n absolute NO. As well as they're greatest advertisement is word of mouth. And in this case, it will be to their detriment. Bad move brown bear.) Cisco Cantina reply: You obviously do not appreciate good Mexican food if you resort to Jose Pepper's as Mexican food. Thank you for your 1 support.

This is tex-mex and not authentic. I came in with my boyfriend on an early Sunday afternoon and the place was pretty empty. We were seated quickly and service was not bad. The waitress took our order for drinks and food quickly. The menu was just plain sad. Not many options and really oddly composed. We both ordered enchiladas, I had green ones with chicken, he had red ones with beef and they were both served with rice and beans. While we waited we had the chips and salsa (which are basic and are free). The chips and salsa was actually pretty freaking darn fantastic. Really crisp chips and super flavorful salsa. Food took a bit to come out and it really wasnt worth it. My enchiladas where horrible. The sauce had very little flavor and the inside of them was cold. Not luke warm, COLD. But oddly my rice and beans (on the same plate i might add) were steaming hot. WTH?!? I sent it back and they gave me a new plate, but that didnt help the flavor. it was so bland. His enchiladas were actually pretty good. One of the managers was clearing tables and when he came to us he asked if we we're done but it seemed he motioned to our drinks so we said yes but he ended up taking my boyfriends palte. There was like one bite of the enchilada left but the guy felt so bad he took the plate away that he gave my boyfriend a whole new enchilada. I get the feeling they are really trying to give good service. Recap: Food was sub par but not a total loss. Service was pretty good. CHIPS AND SALSA ROCKED. We might go back, especially since the manager was very customer oriented and the beef enchiladas were pretty good.

Stephanie our server was helpful in showing us the menu and smiled each time she came to the table. Val also made sure that all our needs were met, and the food was exceptional!

I have avoided writing this review for a bit. I have been here twice now and will not return. While I am sure this is average run of the mill Tex-Mex I need more spice in my life. The first time I visited they had just opened and everything was a bit unorganized which is to be expected. So 6 months go by and I return with my little one for dinner. Let me begin by saying my 5 year old LOVES guacamole. However he is a bit of snob, he likes fresh made with lots of taste. Not the stuff you find at the supermarket in the plastic bags. He took one bite and pushed it away; so I tried it and the kid was right. No flavor at all. Chips and salsa faired a little better he did eat that. I ordered a black margarita and wow this is a good drink; in fact I had two. Kudos to the bar. For our main we split the chicken fajitas. They came out sizzling, so much so I thought the smoke alarms would go off. They went on smoking for about 5 minutes. I was getting embarrassed as everyone was looking for us in a cloud of smoke at our table. So not being smart I but my napkin on top in hope of killing the smoke, nope just caught my napkin on fire. I could have died of shame right there. Once the smoke was gone we made up some fajitas. The onions and peppers on the top were not cooked; the ones on the bottom were burnt. The chicken taste just like Sysco delivered it through the back door. Don't get me wrong the place is nice, the bar is great and the servers were attentive. But when I go to have dinner I have to have good food and this just is not the case at Cisco's.

The food is sub-par Mexican, and the service wasn't that great, the atmosphere was average. The bar is okay but pricey.

First thing we tried to order we were told they were out of beans. Really? A so called Mexican restaurant? We ordered premium margaritas. When brought to us they tasted like a water slush. Returned both drinks. When returned it tasted like they poured some out & added sweet & sour. No kick or even a taste of Patron. The waitress said the bartender told her a frozen margarita wasn't as good as one straight! Why?? I can make and have had good tasting frozen margaritas from other Mexican restaurants. I think he meant to say ' I suck as a bartender"!!!! We didn't finish either one & later found out they were $9.00 for each!!?? No price on the drink menu. After that experience I didn't even order a entree. My girlfriend ordered and it was Tex Mex. nothing special. I just had chips & dip plus guac. The guac was purée! Another waste of $6.00. W/o me even ordering our bill was &42.00. When asked by the cashier how our dinner was I told her it sucked w/no response. I said is it just something you ask but really don't care about?? Still no response! I will never return again even if they offered us a free dinner! Really poor customer satisfaction! Never again Cisco!!!!!

Well, unlike some reviewers, our many times returned experiences were generally very good, highlighted by generous portions and outstanding rellenos. Sadly, it appears those are now tasty memories. There is a simple "CLOSED" sign on the door and the phone number is no longer active. Best wishes to the family that owned/managed Cisco's and their employees.

Great service and great food. Large portions and reasonable prices. Best guacamole in Kansas City!

Quite possibly the best tacos I have ever had. The service has always been great and the bartenders friendly. The only inconsistency is their salsa - the flavor is great but the thickness varies from visit to visit. Great, I'm making myself hungry just writing this review!

We had a groupon here, but we still had a good time. We ate around 1pm on a Sunday so there was a crowd watching the Chief's game in the bar, but the dining room was basically empty. The service was very fast, but granted, it wasn't the lunch rush. We had 2 black margaritas which was actually really good. I'm usually only for strawberry blended margaritas (don't judge), but I had no problems finishing this one. It was refreshing and strong! The guacamole was also really good and the portion for $5.99 was very generous. I believe it was homemade! The salsa was okay.. a little too watery for my taste, but the food was very good. The husband got a variety of enchiladas (including chorizo which we really liked) and I got the Gabriella special which had a shrimp taco, a shrimp enchilada and rice and beans. The rice and beans were really good. The rice wasn't too greasy and they were large portions. The shrimp was cooked perfectly for the taco and enchilada. Very juicy and fresh. I liked the entree a lot. This would be a great place for groups and if you call ahead they have the bar area and a semi-private area that is available for big groups. There weren't many entrees that were over $10. The bar area is also really nice and separate from the restaurant. You could come here for a night out and the prices are pretty good. The service was also really friendly. Unfortunately, I don't think we will be back because it was a bit of a jaunt for us from Platte City... but if we were closer we would definitely return.

If you like old chips in your sauce Luke warm cheese sauce and terrible service than Cisco's is the place for you. The fat old bald waiter was even disrespectful to my mom. Didn't see one actual Mexican either Lol. PLACE IS PIG DISGUSTING!

We thought the fajitas were really good and more than enough for two people to share. There is NOT however outdoor seating like it says on here.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
